The myth to kill first
British Council and IDP are co-owners of IELTS (with Cambridge). Both follow the same protocol, the same examiner standards, and the same marking. Your accent can be anything in either; the examiners' accents can be anything. Anyone telling you "IDP marking is softer" or "BC speaking is stricter" is selling you a rumour. Choose on logistics, not luck.
